Understanding Dave

Explore the concept of Dave. Dave is like many men who feel overwhelmed and misunderstood. He can get emotional, wound up and react in ways he wishes he didn’t, feeling guilty after. Many of us can relate to Dave, where he doesn’t want to feel quite like he does at times but doesn’t really want or feel he can talk about it all.

Practical Tools

Whether you have ADHD, are Neurodivergent, or you find life hard because of the way you feel, react to difficult situations and generally struggle, there are tools and resources that can help you throughout the day and the way you feel, which includes Coaching, Workshops, Worksheets, tricks and hacks.

Meet Tony Carter

After years of struggling with life and wondering why I felt that I didn’t fit in, I was diagnosed with ADHD at 54. This was a surprise as it was not something that had ever been suggested before. I realised that this may have been because, like many men, I had not sat down and talked about how I felt and how life was not always going right. Yes I had a supportive Doctor but there is not much you can say in a 10 minute appointment. It seemed strange looking back as I have alway been a talker but talking about football, politics and other ‘men talk’ is different to talking about how you feel and issues you are having.

I decided that I wanted to create a space where men (and women if they relate) can feel safe to talk about their feelings, the way they feel, the struggles that might be going on in their head. I place where they can feel understood, validated, and feel that they can ask for support and help to manage these issues and begin to understand themselves and work on making life easier the way that feels right for then.

I am now trained as an ADHD and Life coach, and am qualified as a Mental Health First Aider but my most important qualification is ‘Life’. Around 40 years of living the feelings and dealing with the issues in my head meaning that I ‘get it’, I get you, I get all those that relate to ‘Dave’.
